Document Reveals Growth of Cyberwarfare Between the U.S. and Iran

A newly disclosed National Security Agency document illustrates the striking acceleration of the use of cyberweapons by the United States and Iran against each other, both for spying and sabotage, even as Secretary of State John Kerry and his Iranian counterpart met in Geneva to try to break a stalemate in the talks over Iran’s disputed nuclear program.

The document, which was written in April 2013 for Gen. Keith B. Alexander, then the director of the National Security Agency, described how Iranian officials had discovered new evidence the year before that the United States was preparing computer surveillance or cyberattacks on their networks.

Για να είμαστε ακριβείς πρέπει να αναγνωρίσουμε ότι οι Γεωπολιτικές συνθήκες είναι τέτοιες που ευνοούν την ευδοκίμηση αυτού του είδους πολέμου, μέχρι τώρα ενδημικού και από τώρα και εις το εξής μόνιμου.

Απειλή για την Ευρώπη το χαλιφάτο της Λιβύης

Σε πύλη για την αγλαή έξοδο του Ισλαμικού Κράτους προς την Ευρώπη επιχειρούν να μετατρέψουν τη Λιβύη οι τζιχαντιστές, οι οποίοι έστειλαν το σοκαριστικό μήνυμά τους με τον αποκεφαλισμό των 21 χριστιανών Αιγύπτιων ψαράδων.

Με τον αποκεφαλισμό των 21 χριστιανών Αιγύπτιων ψαράδων στο έδαφος της Λιβύης οι
τζιχαντιστές έστειλαν άλλο ένα σοκαριστικό μήνυμα στη Δύση.

Με απόσταση 200 μίλια από την Ιταλία και 180 από την Κρήτη η βυθισμένη στο χάος Λιβύη εξελίσσεται πλέον σε μια σοβαρότατη απειλή ασφαλείας, καθώς οι τζιχαντιστές δεν κρύβουν ότι θα επιχειρήσουν να περάσουν στην Ευρώπη μέσα και από τα μεγάλα κύματα παρανόμων μεταναστών που φθάνουν κυρίως στη Λαμπεντούζα.

In Saudi Arabia, Can an Adversary Become a Partner?

In spite of recent media leaks and statements, it is unlikely that Saudi Arabia will strategically alter its opposition to the Muslim Brotherhood. The rhetorical softening of the new monarch's position toward the Islamist movement is instead part of efforts to better manage Saudi Arabia's regional challenges. In order to effectively fight the Islamic State, Riyadh needs to build a regional anti-jihadi alliance — of which the Muslim Brotherhood could be a part. However, Saudi Arabia will need to ensure that the Muslim Brotherhood cannot threaten Arab states already weakened by the Arab Spring. If it loosens its tough stance, Saudi Arabia risks igniting worse regional problems.

On Feb. 17, Saudi King Salman held a meeting with Qatar's emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, during the latter's visit to Riyadh. The meeting occurred only days after Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal said, "We do not have a problem with the Muslim Brotherhood. Our problem is with a small group of people who demand allegiance from the people." The statement and the meeting made many observers speculate that the new king could change from a zero-tolerance policy toward the Qatar-backed Muslim Brotherhood to one of tepid engagement.

Νετανιάχου: "Τρίτο μέτωπο" εναντίον του Ισραήλ ανοίγει το Ιράν

Ο πρωθυπουργός του Ισραήλ Μπενιαμίν Νετανιάχου κατηγόρησε σήμερα την Τεχεράνη ότι επιδιώκει να ανοίξει ένα "τρίτο μέτωπο" εναντίον του Ισραήλ, στα συριακά Υψίπεδα του Γκολάν, ενώ παράλληλα αναπτύσσει τις πυρηνικές της δυνατότητες.

"Παράλληλα με τις ενέργειες της (σιιτικής οργάνωσης του Λιβάνου) Χεζμπολάχ στο βορρά και της (παλαιστινιακής ισλαμιστικής οργάνωσης) Χαμάς στο νότο, οι οποίες δρούν υπό την άμεση εποπτεία του, το Ιράν προσπαθεί να αναπτύξει ένα τρίτο μέτωπο στα Υψίπεδα του Γκολάν, στο νότο της Συρίας, μέσω των χιλιάδων μαχητών της Χεζμπολάχ", δήλωσε ο Νετανιάχου στη διάρκεια του εβδομαδιαίου υπουργικού συμβουλίου.
