Ρωσικά Sukhoi ενεπλάκησαν με αμερικανικό αντιτορπιλικό στη Μαύρη Θάλασσα

Πολεμικά αεροσκάφη Sukhoi-24 του ρωσικού Στόλου της Μαύρης Θάλασσας υποχρέωσαν αντιτορπιλικό του αμερικανικού Πολεμικού Ναυτικού να αποχωρήσει από τα ρωσικά χωρικά ύδατα, στα όρια των οποίων εκινείτο, σύμφωνα με πηγές του ρωσικού Π.Ναυτικού στην Κριμαία, τις οποίες επικαλείται το ρωσικό πρακτορείο ΡΙΑ-Νόβοστι.

Σύμφωνα με τις ρωσικές πηγές το αμερικανικό πλοίο «Ross» απέπλευσε από το ρουμανικό λιμάνι της Κωστάντζας, «κατευθύνθηκε προς τα χωρικά ύδατα της Ρωσίας, εκινείτο ακριβώς στην οριογραμμή τους, οι ενέργειές του ήταν προκλητικές και επιθετικές».

EU May Take Desperate Measures To Ensure Energy Security

Oft forgotten and on the periphery of the European Union, the Balkans plus Ukraine may have a plan to address the energy needs of the economic bloc. It’s coal-heavy, borderline uneconomic, and arguably counterproductive to respective national agendas, but it does aim to satisfy some particularly topical pan-European goals: greater interconnection and greater energy security, i.e. reduced dependence on Russia.

Don't mention Beijing: The EU and Asia's maritime security

The security challenges facing EU member-states and south-east Asian countries are strikingly similar. Both regions have difficulties with their neighbours: assertive Chinese claims in the South China Sea are a less dramatic version of Russia's annexation of Crimea; refugees in boats and illegal migration are creating humanitarian and security challenges, and piracy threatens sea-borne commerce. More co-operation between the EU and ASEAN (the Association of South East Asian Nations) on maritime security could help both of them, but it could especially contribute to south-east Asian security.
