Germany emerged from the second world war still owing debt that originated with the first world war: the reparations imposed on the country following the Versailles peace conference in 1919. Many, including John Maynard Keynes, argued that these unpayable debts and the economic policies they entailed led to the rise of the Nazis and the second world war.

Η Αθήνα ψήφισε «όχι»

Δεκάδες χιλιάδες κόσμου έδωσε το «παρών» στη συγκέντρωση του Συντάγματος, στηρίζοντας την επιλογή της κυβέρνησης για το «όχι» στο δημοψήφισμα της Κυριακής. Η πρωτοφανής συγκέντρωση θύμισε παλαιότερες εποχές, όπως και τις κινητοποιήσεις των Αγανακτισμένων από το πρόσφατο παρελθόν.

Στη «Μεγάλη Συγκέντρωση του ΟΧΙ – Μεγάλη Γιορτή του Λαού» του Συντάγματος, απηύθυνε χαιρετισμό ο πρωθυπουργός Αλέξης Τσίπρας, καλώντας τον λαό να ψηφίσει «όχι» για «Ευρώπη με αξιοπρέπεια και δημοκρατία».
