Almost everyone dreams of creating the next big thing when it comes to social media, but the truth is, starting a site that is valued in the millions and used by people worldwide such as Facebook, doesn’t happen every day, or even every year. Just because you and your friends think you have a great idea, it doesn’t necessarily mean everyone or anyone else will. Even if you’re on par with the genius of someone like Steve Jobs, there is no guarantee of success—the man himself failed big time with his doomed music social network, iTunes Ping. Launched in September of 2010, it was dead and buried just two years later.
